FABRIC STUDY

MEDIUM: OIL

Something that’s always fascinated me is the way fabric moves and reflects light. During a high school trip to the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, I was stunned by the realism of the opulent fabrics in the portraits of the European Art wing. Since then, I have chased after the skill to render fabric in such a manner, and this piece is a continuation of that goal. I completed it for a final project for a studio course at Harvard University. At four feet tall, this painting was done on the narrowest and tallest canvas I’ve ever stretched.
